A gift voucher enables you to give the experience of a workshop to someone, without having to worry about the exact date (although please be aware that I only teach on weekdays, mainly during term time). The workshop runs from 10am-4pm.
A day or two after your purchase I will email you a PDF gift voucher for you to print at home or share via email with the recipient. There will be a unique coupon code printed on the voucher which can be redeemed via my website at checkout. The voucher will be valid for one year. I will also include an information sheet so the recipient knows how to book and what to expect on the day.
This gift voucher is the perfect present for someone who enjoys learning a new craft, or a pottery lover, but you dont need to be creative or arty to enjoy the day! It makes a special gift for gardeners and bird lovers, people love making the little cow parsley bird drinkers. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those with more experience working with clay. This is a handbuilding class, we will not be using a potter's wheel.
The seed head workshop will take place in my garden studio in Hindhead, Surrey. There are usually around 6 people in the class.
In the morning we will sculpt the seed heads and flowers using stoneware clay. I start with a demo of a poppy seed head for you to follow along with, after that you can choose from a selection of different seed heads and flowers which I have examples of, or you can come with your own ideas. We will stop for lunch at 2pm, please bring your own lunch, after that we will paint on the green and bronze glaze (this is called raw glazing).
The finished, fired pieces will be ready to collect after 3 or 4 weeks, or we can arrange postage for around £7 if you live further away. They will be frost resistant and you can leave them in the garden all your round. The workshop includes the firing of three seed heads and the metal rods to mount them on. Occasionally people find the time to make a fourth seed head, in which case it’s a small cost of £7 per additional piece to cover the cost of materials including a metal rod.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Terms and conditions:
Please understand that I am very generous with sharing my years of knowledge and techniques that I have developed. If you intend to make seed heads or flowers in my style using the techniques I have shown you during the workshop, please be considerate and do not sell your work or run a similar workshop due to copyright. You may use these techniques for making other items in your own style to sell. It's all about finding your own creative voice! If you share work created during my workshop on social media, please mention and tag me @emmagoddenceramics
Cancellations:
If you are unable to attend a workshop due to other commitments or illness, please email me as soon as possible so I can try to find someone to fill your place. If I can find a replacement student I can move you to another suitable date. Unfortunately, if you have cancelled within four weeks, I cannot guarantee that we can simply postpone your attendance if I have been unable to find a replacement. Thank you for your understanding.
